Rock Shox Judy XC help, please

Re:

There's both soft, and heavy springs available now. At 78kg, would I need heavy, or medium? I'm guessing soft would be too soft for me.
I do xc riding, no death defying downhill rides for me!

I had some medium and had to wind them with preload, soft would be ridiculous soft.

I'm sure I seen a spring rate v's weight table somewhere

Cheers Nick

I'm guessing you're around the same, ahem, lightness as me?

Thinking of getting a pair of these for a new project.

What are they like compared to SIDs or Mag 21s?

Judys are working better than the Mags, imho.
Very reliable, not too heavy, easy to maintain, cheap. If you use coil springs.

I did not try SIDs yet, but I think they should be even better. But as I hear they are quite fiddly to service and rather complicated to adjust.

Comparing Judys and Mags with SIDs is like comparing chalk with the finest cheese: SIDs are the business.

Until the air valves go. Which is easy to fix. Unless you're out on a ride.
