Was there ever a more pure and desirable racing mountain bike than a Tomac Ti/Carbon Sig?

This post is in no way meant to offend, it looks like a great bike and the owner should be proud of it.
However, what is pure about a bike with a plastic wheel? That would not last a season.

Like I say, it's not a criticism, just an observation. I hope it's taken as such.

Good luck to all !

Mike

No offense taken at all. I like that it's sparked such good debate!

Whats that saying in racing....anything that lasts longer than a single race is overbuilt? ;)

Best pure and most desirebale race bike ... that's a good debate!

I love the steel bike obvi, but the Juli C-26 has to be in the conversation as THE most desirable.

Ya, but that 1990 Worlds winning Juli Furtado C-26 is lost to the sands of time!!!
The most desirable race bike on earth sold and has been missing ever since.
We know where all the Tomac (Raleigh) bikes are. ;)

Super congrats Pete! That build is about as perfect as you can get a bike.

I have to say, the overall quality of all the bikes and their builds for 2016 are something to be emulated by the rest of us. Great bikes, quality of build and you can see how much effort went in to these bikes. You guys should all be proud!

Got to say I'm blown away! Quality British bikes at 1 and 2, quality retrobike bikes at 1 through to 13. Amazing bikes month after month, I would happy swap mine for any single one of them.

As I said to Doc, I had home advantage with the Pace, it just speaks to every British retroheads youth!

A very worthy winner, regardless of origin, just pure quality
Congratulations on the win and to everyone else too.

Oh, and i would swap one of my bikes if you really wanted
