Is it worth it? (Not "How much")

I have been gifted a lovely 1993 Stumpjumper, mostly orig. I have been quoted £185.00 for strip blast and powder-coat to orig, (By a guy who was/is a Specialized specialist, IYKWIM, (Not sure if decals are inc) I will probs not ride it very often, but it IS pretty, and it DOES need some toshing up. Should I cough up, or just have it powder coated in non-orig colours? Or just ride it?

There's a guy on eBay doing powder coating for £50 I'm sure he could match the colour £185 is a bit excessive
for that price I'd just ride it

The back-end is "Emerald" this catalogue is rather old and faded... Like the bike, and like me.

I have another old MTB (see my posts from a long time ago) Similar spec to the Spesh but unknown name (Bloke in a shed, in Belgium or NL) I would gladly have that powder-coated and have "made-up" decals.. But the Spesh deserves better treatment... I don't know why..

Why? How else do you think it was sprayed in the first place? Lacquer over the top (pearlescent) and you've got a good quality finist without too much cash.

I might have them both done in flame orange, and challenge "bike nerds" to work out what they are! (???)
