You know i bet by the time the 3rd reply was posted this wheel was already built up awaiting to be trued up ;) :LOL: ..
 
Is the valve hole in between two spokes that are converging, my biggest bugbear when I used to build BITD..

Agree..the first spoke is really important ..first one must pull away from spoke hole.

Also if you are going to invest in any 'kit' I'd say a tension meter is worth while. Truing and dishing you can do in a frame but for strong wheels you really need balanced tension.
