The Retrobike Rides Monthly Newsletter – July 2011

July 27th, 2011

June was frantic to say the least for RetroBike Riders. Mountain Mayhem being the focal point of the month with 50 RetroBikers taking to the track and 50 more fighting for the loud hailer trackside in the heckling tent. A full aftermath write up of the event can be found here, eleven pages of aftermath goes to show the fun that was had.

As far as the National Rides Series goes, we now have the next round details posted. You may already have seen the MacRetro lads advertising their Drumlanrig ride in their signatures, but please sign up here if interested in attending.

Retrobike CannockAnother weekend and another car park in a forest. Saturday saw forty plus Retrobikers meet up at Cannock Chase for the Rearranged First Round of the Retrobike National Events Series with support from Bikefood – The Cannock Cupid’s Arrow (formerly Turkey Twizzler).

Once again a great collection of top quality metal was on display, everything from a 80s Saracen to a Chameleon Fat Chance of dubious provenance. An enjoyable day’s riding was had by all, click here for full aftermath report. The next round will be taking place in the Forest of Dean on May 14th, we will also be riding at the HoNC on April 12th.

The Retrobike Rides Monthly Newsletter – January 2011

January 19th, 2011

gangsta retrobikeHappy New Year and welcome to the second Retrobike Rides Newsletter.

Each month we aim to enlighten you of all the goings on around the country that have occurred in the previous month and let you know what’s going on in the coming month.

Ridebike Rides have now been going strong for many years. At first these involved a couple of dodgy looking characters in lurid lycra meeting up in the woods to ride their retro pride and joys.
But now meetings have evolved to groups of up to 40 enthusiasts meeting up to enjoy their bikes, company and trails.
In doing so a friendly atmosphere has been created and good riding manners developed, giving Retrobike Rides their unique qualities and infectious banter.

Everyone is welcome to join Retrobike Rides and everyone is made to feel welcome when they do. All abilities are catered for with the rule being we only get round as fast as the slowest person, with short cuts and chicken runs being planned into the routes.
Retrobike Rides are non competitive with the emphasis on socialising, having fun and exploring the best new trails with people who know them well.
And of course doing it all riding old bikes.

If this appeals to you, please come and join in at one of our National or Local events.
